My Dress

So obviously from pictures or in=person you have seen my dress. I kept it a secret from everyoneee, except my Mom, my Memere, and bridesmaids.

My dream dress was a Priscilla of Boston, silk satin strapless, A-line gown, with an asymmetrical draping, and hand-embelllished crystal applique on bodice in White.

My veil and blusher was also made my Priscilla of Boston and my headpiece was hand-set crystals in a headband/tiara form by Haute Bride.

The Final Fitting

Yesterday was my final dress fitting! Lets just say that I am SOOOO excited to wear it for real in 18 days!!! Everything is perfect and better then I ever dreamed of! My shoes match perfectly, I'm so in love with my veil and my headpiece, and I feel like a real princess in my dress. Theres not one thing I would change! So YAY!

My Mom also had her final dress fitting. She looked stunning, and she is going to be the most beautiful Mother-of-the-Bride ever!

A very successful day for dresses!

I Did It....

So yes I did it...I SPLURGED and bought the Haute Bride headpiece from Priscilla's. I knew I wasn't going to find anything that even compared to it so I figured I would indulge. And trust me, it is COMPLETELY worth it! Couldn't be happier!

So it is on order and should be in mid-May! Since my hair trial is this Saturday, Priscilla's was sooo awesome and is going to let me borrow their sample one! This is yet another reason why Priscilla of Boston is THE place to get all your bridal needs!

Stay tuned on how the hair & makeup trial goes...I still have NO idea how I want my hair..eekkk.

Fits Like a Glove!

Last Saturday I had an appointment to 'accessorize' my dress at Priscilla's.

Going into the appointment I had 3 goals: Pick out a veil, pick out a headpiece, and look at their shoes.

Before the appointment Lindsay, my consultant at Priscilla's, informed me that my alterations were completed so I would get to see and try my dress on!! That was suchh great news!! I was so nervous to put the dress on because I remember from my first fitting, they pinned it soo snug! I mean I have been watching what I eat and I've made a bigger attempt to go to the gym more often, but still, I was terrified of that dress not zipping up!! How embarrassing that would be!!

Slipping into my dress, having it zipped up the back, it fitting perfectly, and then just looking at myself in the mirror made me so happy. It fit like a glove! And it was nice to actually see it fit my body and not make me look frumpy or that it was about to fall off.

I was so excited to go out and show everyone! I felt confident and I felt like a true bride! What made me smile even bigger was everyone's reactions. Mouth dropping, tears, smiles, and "wows." I felt like a true princess. I was so fortunate to have my mom, my sister, my other mom, and a couple close friends with me on such short notice!

Lindsay pulled a few veils and we started playing with the idea of chapel vs. fingertip etc. The chapel veils are gorgeous and so elegant, however I'm short haha, and also my train really isn't that long so the veils extended farther which made it look weird...we decided on a fingertip veil that really complimented the dress. We also decided 'yes' on the blusher! It's one tradition I definitely want my Dad to experience...lifting the veil, giving me a kiss, and then handing me over to my groom.

We then started playing with some headpiece ideas. I know I def wanted something sparkly and "bling" to compliment my dress but I didn't know what...I'm uncertain of how I'm going to wear my hair which made it more difficult to decide on a piece. Lindsay showed me a piece from the designer Haute Bride, which I loved! However...I'm not 100% and it was on the pricey side...so we decided to hold off on that!

I didn't find any shoes that really caught my attention....so the search for shoes continues! (I've now purchased and returned 3 pairs)

Even though it was a miserable rainy/windy day, I still had the best day ever!

The Dress Fitting...

Dun Dun Dun.....

The dress fitting...

The day I was for some reason dreading? For absolutely absurd and silly reasons...

1. I'm not nearly in the shape I want to be in for my wedding...
2. What if I decide I HATEEE my dress??
3. What if I decide that I look absolutely ridiculous in it, and there's nothing I can do about it.
4. Ok I'll stop I'll admit I was a crazy! (According to a couple of my bridesmaids!)

I knew in my heart that everything was going to be fine, and I was going to love my dress just as much as I did when I first put it on, perhaps even more because it was more my size and not the stocked size. But I couldn't help not feeling a touch of anxiety. It was such a huge moment.

With a few cancellations due to schedules not matching up, my Mom, my sister, and I finally made our way back to Priscilla's on Boylston Street last Thursday.

I was greeted by Nella, the manager of the alteration department, and she led me to the room where my dress was awaiting me. Again it was love at first sight...even in the clear garment bag I knew I was going to love it.

SO the moment of truth...Nella helped me dress and put me on the pedestal. And all I could do was smile. I loved it. It was perfect. It was truly my dress.

It was pretty big (which I was happy about) and they pinned accordingly to mark where it had to be taken in. Their main objective is to make the dress fit 'like a glove' and to make it look like that dress was especially made for you, which it should be!

I can not praise the alteration ladies enough. The alteration ladies at Priscilla's are adorable. They truly make you feel beautiful and like a princess. They couldn't stop raving about the dress, my beauty and my 'glow' in it and also the beauty of my mom, sister, and I. It was fun!

I can not wait until I go back to see the latest changes and alterations. This time I will go in with more confidence and hopefully bring a couple of my bridesmaids!

One thing I have to keep in mind is I can not gain an ounce...the pressure is on!

So everyone was right...I ended up loving my dress 100000x more then before...if that was even possible! So since then I've basically been on cloud 9.

GUESS WHAT!!

So within the last week SO many exciting things have happened. The most recent, and the most exciting piece of news is...MY DRESS IS IN!!!! Lyndsey, my stylist as Priscilla's called me last night to let me know that my dress was in....it looks gorgeous...and she can't wait to have me in to put it on! Eekkkk! Nerves are definitely starting to kick in now...only because I'm not in nearly as good shape as I want to be in before I try the dress on....and I'm also having that typical "bridal fear" of "what if I find out I HATE my dress...since its been so long!" AH! Hopefully I will be able to try it in very soon to settle my nerves.

Other things to mention...the groomsmen gifts are in...the bridesmaids gifts are in...and they are both awesome!

ALSO- The bridesmaid dresses are in! And most of my bridesmaids have already received them. They are exactlyyy what I was envisioning...they are exactlyyy the color I wanted...so I couldn't be more thrilled! All my bridesmaids are going to look GORGEOUS! I just keep envisioning the beautiful pink color against the beautiful landscape of the green mountains. I just saw some of my photographers most recent work, which made me that much more excited and thrilled that we booked them, because their pictures were gorgeous! I know mine will be too because we have beautiful scenery, beautiful people, and beautiful colors :)

Dress Shopping Round 2

Knowing that I had a huge time crunch to find my dream dress I was able to make an appointment at Priscilla's of Boston for July 30th. Luckily my Mom, sister, grandparents, and Tina, were able to make it.

I've always seen the Priscilla of Boston ads in magazines, and have heard numerous people talk about it, so I of course wanted to have the Priscilla experience as well! I went into my dress search not caring if I got a designer gown or not. All I was looking for was a dress that I was absolutely in love with, and for the dress to basically find me...like we were meant to be.

We arrived at our appointment at Priscilla's on Boylston Street, and we were all beyond excited. Our consultant Lindsey brought us into a room and basically asked me a million questions of the type of dress I was looking for and things I liked, loved, and didn't care for. After what seemed like twenty minutes, she was like ok I think I have a perfect dress for you. She came back with two dresses. I put the first one on and I stood there in awe. It was absolutely gorgeous. It was nothing like I expected or dreamed of, but it was BETTER. It was STUNNING. I knew instantly that this was the dress...MY dress.....so after admiring myself for a few minutes I went out and showed everyone and to see their reaction...all their reactions were the same as mine....STUNNING. They all knew this was MY dress, I had found MY dress!!! Even other clients and consultants stopped and came around and looked and they were all like this is your dress, this dress was made for you. AHHHHH!!!!!!

It was suchhh an overwhelming feeling and I was in disbelief that I had found MY dress.....and just to make sure I asked to try on some more dresses. I tried on probably 6 more, but none of them compared, it was quite obvious that we had found the dress.

I put my dress back on and just stood on the pedestal and I could envision myself walking down the isle towards Jeff, wearing this dress....it was absolutely perfect. One of the managers came over and she said that she was so happy I had found this dress, because "not many people can pull it off....you need to have the perfect body type for the dress..." So it was fate!

I was so thankful to have everyone there with me, because they all agreed that the dress was perfect and we should order it. Even though I knew it was my dress, it's such a hard decision and without their encouragement I don't think I would've been able to say yes! lets do this! There were so many happy tears, especially from me, because at that moment everything seemed more real....I had found my wedding dress....this is something little girls dream of their whole life and they wait anxiously for that moment when they are actually standing there in their dress.....I did at least...

So the first dress I had tried on at Priscilla's of Boston was my dress.....they took my measurements, and it is on order and should arrive around March. I can not be more excited and happy.

I'm not going to go into detail of what my dress looks like....because 1. My fiance reads my blog now! 2. Only my bridesmaids know, and it's our bridal secret! 3. I want everyone to be "wowed" as I walk down the isle, so I will keep it as a surprise!

So yes, I FOUND MY DREAMMMM DRESSS!!!!

Dress, check!
